Advanced Practice Provider Preceptor Course 2024: Quarter 1

This course is offered as two 3-hour sessions on January 11 and January 23. You must attend both sessions and complete the evaluation to receive credit.

January 11 12-3pm

January 23 1:30- 3:30pm

The following topics will be presented:

• Characteristics of a Successful Preceptor
• The Art of Giving Feedback
• Competency Evaluation
• Clinical Learning Environment
• Clinical Reasoning
• Protocol-Specific Skills

1. Develop preceptors who can create a learning environment that encourages proactive self-improvement and development as clinicians
2. Equip preceptors with a repertoire of teaching, assessment, and feedback methods and tools to effectively impact a diversity of learners in various clinical settings
3. Prepare preceptors to address challenges that arise in clinical education
