Mission Statement

The CME program at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital shares the institutional mission, which is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. St. Jude CME supports this mission by providing education that enables St. Jude faculty and staff to translate new research and developments into clinical practice as well as improve their professional practice. 

We expect that our learners will report increased confidence and competence in their approach to translating state-of-the-art research into clinical care and be able to apply newly acquired clinical and professional strategies to their practice of medicine at St. Jude or their home institution. 

Target Audience and Scope

Our CME activities are geared toward our physicians and other healthcare professionals who provide medical care for children with catastrophic diseases. To that end, we provide education in clinical science, practice management, medical/legal topics, ethics, quality improvement, and physician professional development.  

The St. Jude CME program is administered by our Clinical Education and Training Office.

Goals

The goals of our CME program are to:

• Offer excellent educational programming to better enable physicians and other health care professionals to provide superior medical care for children with catastrophic diseases
• Enhance the dissemination of knowledge to ensure that clinicians have timely and relevant information available
• Facilitate a career-long continuum of medical education
• Foster innovation in current medical education programs
• Serve as a resource and model for course directors and educators at St. Jude
