2018 Pediatric Surgical Oncology Review Course

This educational course focuses on the current management of children with malignant solid tumors. Experts will present summaries of the critical issues on the surgical management of major pediatric solid tumors (Neuroblastoma, Wilms Tumor, Sarcomas, Liver Tumors and Germ Cell Tumors), as well as reviews of rare pediatric solid tumors. In addition, presentations on Mediastinal Mass, Vascular Tumors, and Management of Pulmonary Metastatic Disease will be made. Significant time will be allotted to illustrative case presentations and group discussion. This 1 1/2 day course is designed for General Pediatric Surgical Fellows and Junior Faculty who are COG Institutional Surgery RIs. 

Saturday sessions will be held from 8am-5pm. Sunday sessions will begin at 8am, and the conference will adjourn at 1pm.  

1. Identify the critical issues in the management of children with malignant solid tumors
2. Use current strategies and research findings to improve surgical care of pediatric patients with solid tumors
3. Review pre-operative workup of children with various pediatric malignancies
4. Present the staging systems for pediatric solid malignancies
5. Discuss rare pediatric solid tumors

Registration is open as of November 15, 2017. Please note that registration is free for fellows and non-physician attendees and $150 for faculty and RIs.
