Overview

Please note: This symposium has been canceled. The situation of ongoing community spread of COVID-19 in the US is very concerning. Out of an abundance of caution, the St. Jude administration and infection control have decided to not risk bringing the virus to the immunocompromised children at St. Jude.

The presentations at this one day meeting will highlight current diagnosis, treatment and management of opportunistic infections and other complications associated with pediatric transplantation with interactive breakout sessions. Leaders in the field will also present cutting edge research in several areas including the role of CAR-T cell therapies, graft versus host disease, and how different immunosuppressive agents predispose to specific infectious diseases.

More information about this symposium, including registration, preliminary agenda, and abstract submission guidelines, can be found on the PIDS website.

Objectives
After attending this symposium, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe updates to current standards in the diagnosis, treatment and management of infectious complications pediatric immunocompromised patients, including T cell therapies
  2. Explain advances in the management of viral infections and HLH
  3. Explain how viral disease could be prevented through T cell transfer and vaccination
  4. Recognize research gaps in transplant ID
  5. Explain the impact of antimicrobial resistance in immunocompromised hosts

Registration
Information about registration, including the fee schedule, can be found on the PIDS website.
