Overview

Please note: This symposium will be held virtually.

This symposium will discuss hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and gene therapy (GT) for sickle cell disease, with a focus on topics such as understanding new technologies related to HSCT/GT research, multidisciplinary collaborations among HSCT/GT experts, and the importance of including patients in the process of HSCT/GT research.

The target audience for this symposium is sickle cell disease researchers and health care providers.

If you are interested in the St. Jude Sickle Cell Disease Clinical Fellowship, please visit the fellowship web site for more information about the program, eligibility, and the application process.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Identify possible areas of collaboration and potential collaborators in HSCT and GT research.
  2. Describe multidisciplinary areas of need in new protocols and identify the types of experts who should be included to address them.
  3. Implement strategies to encourage SCD patient involvement in HSCT/GT research protocols.

Registration

This symposium is free, but preregistration is required. You must preregister as an individual to be eligible for attendance or CME credit.

Registration is now open and will close on March 1, 2021.
