Overview

The 5th ISCAYAHL will focus on discussion of the main questions in the field of pediatric, adolescent and young adult (AYA) Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) such as survivorship outcomes, clinical trial portfolios from around the world, novel therapeutics biomarkers and biology and novel imaging of pediatric HL. The goal of this conference is to provide a platform to share work from global collaborations and form new ones.

The International Symposium for Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Hodgkin Lymphoma (ISCAYAHL) was first assembled by Dr. Monika Metzger, USA and Dr. Mauz-Körholz, Germany as a chance to engage the global pediatric HL scientific community. The first meeting was held in Arlington, Virginia, in 2011. During this meeting new collaborations and research opportunities arose. Leaders from various pediatric collaborative groups including Children’s Oncology group (COG), European Network for Pediatric HL (EuroNet-PHL), the Pediatric Hodgkin Consortium (PHC) and Asociación de Hemato-Oncología Pediátrica de Centro América (AHOPCA) recognized a profound need to not only standardize response criteria, but also staging criteria to facilitate the interpretation and comparison of clinical studies worldwide. Out of this formed the ongoing Staging Evaluation and Response Criteria Harmonization (SEARCH) initiative.

Mission

To improve survival and quality of life for all children, adolescents and young adults with Hodgkin lymphoma worldwide through collaboration.

For more information, please visit the conference website.

  1. Develop standards of care for children, adolescents, and young adults (AYA) with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) globally
  2. Review clinical science and trial advances for pediatric and AYA HL to harmonize future iterations of trial development
  3. Advance use of patient-reported outcomes in HL to improve personalized approaches to care
  4. Utilize current state of survivorship research to inform therapeutic advances in HL
