Overview

Symposium discussing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and gene therapy for sickle cell disease. This symposium will focus on topics such as: understanding new technologies related to HSCT/GT research, multidisciplinary collaborations among HSCT/GT experts, and the importance of including patients in the process of HSCT/GT research.


Objectives

After participating in this education activity, attendees should be able to: 


  1. Identify possible areas of collaboration and potential collaborators in HSCT and GT research.
  2. Describe multidisciplinary areas of need in new protocols and identify the types of experts who should be included to address them.
  3. Implement strategies to encourage SCD patient involvement in HSCT/GT research protocols.
