Overview

The 22nd annual St. Jude/PIDS Pediatric Infectious Diseases Research Conference features Immunocompromised Hosts/Transplant Infectious Disease (ID), Pediatric ID Research, Global Health, and Career Development. 

The purpose of this conference is to provide updates to current standards in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of infectious complications in pediatric immunocompromised patients; explain new developments in the management of infections in pediatric patients and host-pathogen interaction; and identify opportunities and challenges during the transition from residency to fellowship to faculty.  

The target audience for this conference includes medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty with interests in pediatric infectious diseases, global health, immunocompromised hosts and transplant medicine.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Describe updates to current standards in the diagnosis, treatment and management of infectious complications in pediatric immunocompromised patients, including T cell therapies
  2. Explain advances in the management of infections in transplant patients
  3. Explain new developments in host-pathogen interaction, focusing on bacterial, viral, and fungal infections
  4. Identify opportunities and challenges during the transition from residency to fellowship and from fellowship to faculty
  5. Discuss global health-related opportunities for trainees and to share strategies for conducting clinical research in research limited settings

Registration

Registration is open for both in-person and virtual attendees. There is no fee to attend this conference. 

Please note that all in-person attendees will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
