Overview

This educational course focuses on the current management of children with malignant solid tumors. Experts will present summaries of the critical issues on the surgical management of major pediatric solid tumors (Neuroblastoma, Wilms Tumor, Sarcomas, Liver Tumors and Germ Cell Tumors), as well as reviews of rare pediatric solid tumors. In addition, presentations on Mediastinal Mass, Vascular Tumors, and Management of Pulmonary Metastatic Disease will be made. Significant time will be allotted to illustrative case presentations and group discussion.

This 1½ day course is designed for General Pediatric Surgical Fellows and Junior Faculty who are COG Institutional Surgery RIs.

  1. Identify the critical issues in the management of children with malignant tumors
  2. Use current strategies and research findings to improve surgical care of pediatric patients with solid tumors
