Overview
This oncologic imaging course is focused on pediatric body radiology and related topics including response criteria in solid tumors and lymphoma, interventional radiology in pediatric oncology, newer technologies such as 3D modeling for surgical planning, and novel radiotracers. A session on acute and chronic adverse effects of pediatric cancer therapy will feature a panel of childhood cancer survivors who will discuss their journeys and answer questions. A session on global outreach will be highlighted by a keynote address given by pediatric radiologist, Dr. Pek-Lan Khong, who was a member of the Lancet Oncology Commission on medical imaging focusing on access in underserved areas of the world. After attending this course participants will have a better understanding of standard of care and recent advances in pediatric oncologic imaging, the patients’ perspectives of cancer treatment and its adverse sequelae, and potential opportunities for global partnerships. The knowledge and understanding gained from this course will allow implementation of the techniques discussed at attendees’ local institutions.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Better implement response criteria in pediatric oncology patients
  2. Develop a strategy to implement newer technologies in practice
  3. Discuss updates and key imaging features that impact clinical care of pediatric oncology patients
