Overview

Please join us at the Second Global Meeting of the Posterior Fossa Society. This state of the art conference on Cerebellar Mutism Syndrome (CMS)/ Posterior Fossa Syndrome (PFS) is relevant to all professionals involved with the care of children and young people with brain tumors.

Abstracts

 Abstract Submission is now closed.

Thank you to all the work accomplished this year and to those who are eager to share their findings at the Posterior Fossa Society Global Meeting. Authors will be notified mid-February regarding abstract acceptance.

Please remember at least one named author must register and attend the meeting for the abstract to be presented.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Recognize preoperative clinical features that predict higher risk of PFS/CMS
  2. Appreciate the functional and prognostic significance of pre- and post-operative neuroimaging correlates of PFS/CMS.
  3. Use evidence-based risk-stratification tools to inform pre-operative counselling about likely outcomes.
  4. Evaluate the strengths and limitations of current PFS/CMS rating scales, and determine how they can be applied most effectively.
  5. Describe how the configuration, timing and intensity of rehabilitation strategies are most likely to lead to optimal recovery.
  6. Convey acute PFS/CMS symptomatology predictive of worse functional outcomes in this patient population.

APA Objectives
  1. Identify neuroimaging correlates of PFS/CMS.
  2. Describe pre-operative characteristics that are predictive of PFS/CMS.
  3. Convey acute PFS/CMS symptomatology predictive of worse functional outcomes in this patient population.
  4. Compare and contrast existing PFS/CMS rating scales.
  5. Describe the influence of rehabilitation services on patients with PFS/CMS.
