Overview

Please note: This symposium has been canceled due to the increasing spread of COVID-19 to decrease the risk to the immunocompromised children of St. Jude.

This symposium will discuss hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and gene therapy (GT) for sickle cell disease, with a focus on topics such as understanding new technologies related to HSCT/GT research, multidisciplinary collaborations among HSCT/GT experts, and the importance of including patients in the process of HSCT/GT research.

Please note that the target audience for this symposium is sickle cell disease researchers and health care providers.

Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, you should be able to:

  1. Identify possible areas of collaboration and potential collaborators in HSCT and GT research.
  2. Describe multidisciplinary areas of need in new protocols and identify the types of experts who should be included to address them.
  3. Implement strategies to encourage SCD patient involvement in HSCT/GT research protocols.

Registration

This symposium is free, but pre-registration is required.

Registration is now open and will close on March 11, 2020.
