Overview

REGISTRATION IS OPEN! 

Outcomes for critically ill hematology/oncology and hematopoietic cell transplant patients, while improved over the last 2 decades, remain unacceptably poor compared with other populations we care for in our ICUs. The goal of this symposium is to bring together experts in the field and those working to become the experts of the future to stimulate discussion and grow new ideas for improving the care of this vulnerable population.

New This Year

Abstracts. We are accepting abstracts involving the field of onco-critical care. The deadline for submission is January 3, 2020. Trainees with top abstracts will be eligible for travel grants, and accepted abstracts will be published in Frontiers in Oncology.

Abstract submission is open. Please choose the Abstracts tab above for more information and to submit an abstract. 

Nursing Track. This year, we will be offering more content for nurses, including a nursing breakout track developed by and for critical care nurses. 

Fellow Scholarships

The Department of Pediatrics at St. Jude is offering a few scholarships for PICU fellows to attend POCCS 2020, as we believe this is a great opportunity for education, networking, and professional development. The selection of scholarship recipients will be based on the answers provided in the scholarship application. Please attach your CV to the bottom of the application or email it to Jenny McArthur (jennifer.mcarthur@stjude.org) to complete the application. Applications will be accepted until January 3rd, 2020.


Objectives

After attending this symposium, participants should be able to: 
  1. Determine which latest developments in POCC are applicable to their practice
  2. Plan ways to implement those developments and strategies
